Family businesswoman of the year

It's a Family Thing

The VILLA Bleichröder is a listed family-owned boutique hotel that has been operating as a hotel since the 1980s. Since 2023, it has been owned by the Jaeschke family, who are modernizing it piece by piece and running it as a hotel garni. The focus of the modernization is to preserve the historical elements while giving the villa a modern touch and offering guests the best possible comfort. The interior reflects the owner family’s love of design details and historical elements. The house with its 13 rooms and the large park right on the beach stands for closeness to nature, tranquillity and focus – ideal for escaping the pace of everyday life for a moment.

GLS Campus Berlin

The Jaeschke family already runs the GLS Campus in Berlin: a language school and language travel agency with an event location and studio apartments in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. GLS is one of the most renowned providers of language and educational trips on the German-speaking market. The GLS Campus also includes Villa Bleichröder’s sister hotel, the historic Hotel Oderberger. The former municipal swimming pool was designed in 1898 – it had been closed since 1986 and no one has swum here since. In February 2016, the Hotel Oderberger Berlin opened after extensive refurbishment: the result is a historic boutique hotel with 70 rooms, two apartments and five tower suites. The highlight is the historic swimming pool in neo-Renaissance style.

Female Entrepreneurship

GLS is a 2nd generation family business run by women – with 150 employees and its own campus in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg.
GLS was founded in 1983 by Barbara Jaeschke, who still runs it today, since 2016 together with her daughters Dr. Verena Jaeschke (center) and Dr. Reemda Jaeschke (left).
